I got cast in the National Tour of "The Pajama Game".
It's going to be nuts.
It's going to be crazy.
It's going to be insane.
Clearly, it's blog time.
For a year across the country, I'll be playing Hines. I haven't received my script just yet, but I can only imagine that Hines is 'the handsome one'. (More details to follow.) Most of the cities we hit are week-long 'sit-downs' where we drive (by bus) to somewhere, get our non-smoking room at the local hotel, unpack our toiletries bag, and do 8 shows. Then we repack everything, do a double-check of the room(still managing to lose a shoe or my phone-charger), throw whatever junk we own under the bus, and hit the road again. Again and again. For a year.
Since we will be in a new city every week, I thought this would be a good time to start writing. What better way to keep my words-per-minute typing test prowess at a high level of furious than to write a weekly blog about my life on the road.
It's now early July. We start rehearsals in Maryland on August 24th. I have no idea who is in this cast and the only person I've heard from is my company manager who sent out a mass e'mail to everybody saying she'd be in touch "in the coming weeks". I'm excited. I've certainly never done anything like this. Hines is also a pretty sizable role and that is definitely adding to my excitement as a performer and insecurities as a singer/dancer.
But it'll be nuts/crazy/insane. With plenty a'drama. Maybe I'll start a rumor that the female lead is pregnant. Maybe when I do the morning radio show in Tulsa, I'll use a British accent. Maybe I'll miss my first entrance on Day 1 and be kicked off immediately!
O The Possibilities!!!

Welcome to "The Padrama Game". Eventually I'll have my tour-itinerary so you can tell me where to go in your home city perhaps. Eventually I'll have a countdown to the day I purchase my new iPhone. Eventually I'll have pictures. Quotes from Mr. Crazy, our down-to-Earth bus driver. Random-food-I-ate section. Who hooked up with who and who's now pregnant and which one of them is the female lead? How will the female lead take to my gossip about her?
So, stay tuned in the coming months!
*Pretty sure this is not a Wordsworth quote. Like 100% positive.
